Gurkha Hut

  • Written approval from Sabah Parks Head Office, must be obtained before the climb.
  • Climbers must be report at Kinabalu Park Operation Room to settle in full all payment regarding the climb such as permit fee, insurance, guide and etc.
  • Climbers are required to fill a climber’s form and an indemnity/assumption risk before the climb.
  • Climbers per day are limited to 3 persons including mountain guide.
  • Only qualified mountain guides registered with Sabah Parks are allowed to accompany climbers to Gurkha Hut.
  • Climbers are required to follow existing trail only.
  • Among the things to bring included foods, rain coat, sweater, lamp, first aid kit and camping gas or kerosene stove.
  • Cooking with kerosene stove or camping gas is allowed. Cutting of trees or plants weather dead or alive is strictly prohibited.
  • Do not litter in the park. All rubbish must be taken away and use of wet wipes is strictly prohibited.
